Furniture & Decor We Love for the Holidays

‘Tis the season! We are officially in December and enjoying the holiday cheer. With the bustling of Christmas and the New Year, we’re all bound to have a little more company in our homes as we welcome friends and family home for the holidays. It’s time to bring out the sparkle, appropriate furnishings, and the right touch of décor that is fit for your interiors and the season. We’re outlining 4 easy additions you can make to your home while preparing for the holiday festivities.

1.     Subtle Details

Holiday décor can sometimes appear as overwhelming. The heavy greens, reds, and golds can create a colorful yet heavy aura if not balanced out with other neutral colors or a white backdrop. This is especially important for more cozy intimate interiors where loved ones will gather. Create a touch of class and luxury throughout your home this holiday by placing subtle details in important areas. For example, brass or golden décor can create a subtle holiday dazzle and is an easy go-to selection that will complement the rest of your space effortlessly. Placing items like these in focal point areas like the mantel of your fireplace or on your coffee table is the perfect way to cohesively blend luxury and the holiday spirit without completely changing the aesthetic of your current interior style or breaking the bank.

2.     Comfortable Furnishings

With more friends and family in town this season, this is the best time to catchup on the old times. Good seating is essential for not only yourself but your guests as well. A sectional sofa is another favorite selection of ours because it offers versatility, spacing, and is the best for entertaining. However, because of its size and limited arrangement, this is likely a permanent furnishing that is meant to stay throughout the seasons without much movement. The plus side of this is you can add complementary décor to enhance the sectional for the appropriate season. Switch out your accent pillows for something festive and holiday themed to enhance the holiday mood. Because of the colder weather, it is also a great idea to drape your favorite cozy throw blanket for an added style element and an easy go to for those chilly nights.

3.     Decor Galore

The décor fun doesn’t just stop at the living room! The kitchen area is also a great area to decorate with holiday themed items. The dining and kitchen island areas are the perfect place to layout a colorful tablescape. If you have natural wood materials in your seating furniture, the warm tone of the wood and the rich colors of the tablescape can blend beautifully to create a luxurious cozy scene. Other ideas near the kitchen area include draping a holiday hand towel on the handle of the oven or bringing out the fine cutlery for display.

4.     Lighting

The light show can sometimes be found on the exterior of your home, but the lighting found indoors is key as well. Pay attention to the lighting fixtures you have in your home and think of ways this commonly overlooked piece can be enhanced for the holidays. Perhaps it is as simple as switching out the outer shade with one that has a subtle theme and elevated design. Dim lighting is great for entertaining, or holiday movie nights so look for lighting fixtures that offer you that flexibility. Scented candles can also offer that low light while enhancing your other senses to bring a luxury feel for your interior.

This list encompasses a few yet important key areas to inspire you in adding holiday variety to your home. We hope you’ve enjoyed thinking outside the box in creating ways to bring seasonal elegance to your interior, without completely changing the aesthetic.
